Your love of singing got all tangled up in other people’s judgement of your voice.
And along the way the pleasure, the whimsy, the aliveness of singing got diminished.

Voice doula, singing shadow worker, song oracle, silly goose and playful permission giver devoted to our collective liberation.
Hi love love!
I was a professional performer/singer with over a decade of vocal training when I fell out of love with singing. I realized my voice had become a commodity used to please and impress other people. Boooooo!!!
I hungered for vocal work that honored my voice’s innate connection to my soul. I longed to feel the joy, delight and aliveness I once felt as a kid singing The Little Mermaid in the bathtub without worrying what others thought.
I found the voice work of Roy Hart and Alfred Wolfsohn who taught that “the voice is the muscle of the soul.”
It sparked my spiritual awakening and launched a 14+ year journey of unlearning all the vocal technique that trained me to be pleasing and palatable and riddled with self-consciousness.
Breaking down all the boxes my voice was put in so that I could sing feral, unruly and for no one’s pleasure but my own.
I offer these sacred song circles because I will die on this hill, screaming sounding and singing out to all who need to hear it:

That story you were told about your voice being “too much and too loud” was really about your voice being too powerful for the oppressive systems who want you palatable.
Our ancestors knew the healing and disruptive force of our primal sounds.
So did the systems of power.

We were trained to fear the cracked, chorded + broken sounds that are vital to our humanity, and essential for our (r)evolution.

Vocal inner parts +
Singing Shadow Work
Every voiced sound is an embodiment of an inner part.
(Take that in.)
We all learned to cut out certain sounds aka silence parts of ourselves in order to survive.
So when these inner parts + feelings come up while channeling, we habitually repress them.
Our channel becomes blocked and our flow stops.
By unlearning vocal control and slowly expanding our capacity to express the deep feels and wounded parts we’ve been taught to silence and shame...
We start to remember how to express these parts when they arise, rather than repress them.
They start to sing and sound through us and our once blocked channel starts to open.
Nothing is “in the way” of our flow, not even resistance, fear, or judgment, because that too is a frequency that can be voiced.
Everything alive within us simply becomes more fuel for our soul’s expression and we become a wide open channel.
But even more importantly (IMO)...
We start integrating these exiled parts back into our divine wholeness and start embodying the full extent of our soul’s shameless self expression.
We become anchors of embodied love that transmit frequencies of radical self-acceptance and unconditional love into the heart of everyone we serve.
